Jessica + Spencer - Wedding in Woodland Park
I feel like I’ve known Jessica and Spencer for a long time now. And truthfully, I kind of have! Jessica and I first met at a consultation in a Starbucks over two years ago. Since then, a lot has changed with their wedding plans. I imagined how hard it must’ve been to have planned a wedding for over two years, only to have any plans pushed to the side two months before your wedding date.
They have handled all of the changed plans and torrential downpour (with a side of 30 mph wind) with so much grace and patience. This day has been a long time coming, and even though it came with a lot of unexpected surprises, it was a beautiful day full of love, laughter, and happy tears.
Okay, now the details you really want…
Jessica and Spencer met when they were both working at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. Jessica went into the Bathroom and - boom - there was Spencer in the supply closet counting toilet paper. Spencer ran out of the bathroom quickly, not realizing that Jessica also worked there.
Jessica was off of work for the next couple of days, and while she was out, Spencer told all of his friends that he saw a beautiful woman in the bathroom. When Jessica came back, Spencer spotted her walking across the toilet paper and realized that she was his mysterious-beautiful-bathroom-woman.
So there you have it folks - you may just find the love of your life in a restroom! :)
Their relationship has come a long way since then. Jessica went through Nursing school and is now working as a Nurse, and Spencer’s going to school to get a degree in Criminal Justice. They’ve planned and re-planned weddings. And they’ve even had to re-plan a honeymoon.
When I asked Jessica what her favorite thing was about Spencer, she said, “He is my rock and my foundation in any crisis or hardship.”
When I asked Spencer what his favorite thing was about Jessica, he said, “The sparkle in her eyes when she smiles at me.”
They say that rain is good luck on a wedding day. Jessica and Spencer had rain (a LOT of rain), ladybugs, and even a visiting hummingbird. As hard as the past two months have been on their wedding plans, I think they have so many exciting things coming their way. I can’t wait to see what they do with their life together.
My Favorite Detail: Jessica had a lot of sentimental details. She wore a pearl necklace that her grandma added an inch to every birthday until she was 18. She also wore the garter that her grandma wore to her wedding. I love when people weave family heirlooms into their wedding day.
Tear-Jerker Moment: When Jessica gave her mom her present, she included a heart-felt letter. Watching them both cry happy tears while Jessica’s mom read the letter made it very obvious that this family has a lot of love to go around.
