Amber + Matt | Winter Engagement Session in Breckenridge, Colorado
I’ve said it before… and I’ll say it again. I don’t know how it happens, but the most marvelous humans always seem to find their way to me and I feel so incredibly, unbelievably thankful to be a part of one of the BIGGEST DAYS OF THEIR LIFE.
When Amber and I were planning their engagement session, I remember her asking if it was okay if she brought their dogs for some photos. And, um, of course. I have a firm belief that every photo session is made better by the presence of dogs. Actually, scratch that. Everything is made better with the presence of dogs.
Yeah, I love my job.
I didn’t meet Amber and Matt until their engagement session and my first thought was this: “wow, her hair is incredible.” And I’m pretty sure those were the first words out of my mouth, too. My second thought: “Okay, they’re adorable and this is going to be so. much. fun.” (This particular thought was about Amber and Matt, but I definitely thought that about their doggos, too :) )
At first the path at Sapphire Point felt normal…. Until I came up on a picnic table that I’m used to walking past, covered completely in snow. Yep - we were walking on top of 3-4 feet of densely packed snow. My oblivious brain forgot about this fact when I stepped off the path to get a better angle and ended up waist deep in loosely packed snow. But it’s okay - as always, the photos were worth it ;)
We ended the day down by Dillon Lake, and Colorado was definitely showing off. I can’t wait to celebrate these two this December!
