Catie and Brett have one of the most timeless love stories that I’ve ever heard (and psssstttt…. I hear a lot!) Here’s a great example of what I mean… after meeting at a charity event in Denver during a trivia night, Brett got in touch with Catie by writing her a handwritten letter. After reconnecting, they had their first date at a 50’s diner.

I’ve spent two days with Catie and Brett, and even to me it’s obvious that they are people that care fiercely about others: in their work, in their families, and in daily life. After we finished with their engagement session, I also received a handwritten letter saying “Thank You.” I don’t think Catie realized it when she sent it, but it reached me at a time when I really needed a pick me up. The world needs more Catie + Brett’s.

Their wedding day came after a week of rain and clouds. Catie’s mom and I kept our eye on the forecast, worried that their wedding day would also be a little bit wetter than anticipated, but everything turned out beautifully. The sun was shining, but I have a feeling it would have been just as joyous if they had rain on their wedding day.

Something that really struck me was how much Catie and Brett have built their relationship around having a heart for God, and involving their faith in every aspect of their lives. In the toasts, several family members talked about being excited to “see how God uses Catie and Brett,” and they sure our a spiritual powerhouse.

Favorite Detail: Catie had buttons from her grandmother’s wedding dress on the handle of her bouquet. It was her ‘something old’

Tear-Jerking Moment: At the first look, I had Brett and Catie hold hands before seeing each other. Brett shed a tear before seeing Catie. You could tell that he loves her with his whole heart.

A Brett-and-Catie Kind of Love: A couple that is excited to experience life together, and soak up every adventure that they can. They love to laugh together, but more than anything, they desire to serve God as a pair.
